Some history of the background of the KG Bennett cows & calves for sale:
- These cows are the product of some 30 years of breeding;
- There has been a focus on fertility. The cows/heifers are joined for 8 – 10 weeks those not in calf at the time of preg testing are culled. Any cow which has calving difficulties is also culled;
- The herd was infused with Dabee genetics on the sale of that property in the late nineties – the Dabee herd was one of the oldest Shorthorn herds in the country;
- Temperament has also been a focus – difficult cattle being culled – resulting in quiet, easy handling cattle;
- Genetics have been enhanced by using Patawalla Angus Bulls, The Grove(Condamine – Qld), Gumble (Molong)and Sandy Creek Shorthorn Bulls
- The present drop of calves have been sired by Patawalla, The Grove and Sandy Creek Bulls.
